Two days after Maoist chairman Prachanda told an Indian news channel that he hoped to become the president of ‘republican Nepal’ in two years time, senior minister and Nepali Congress general secretary Ram Chandra Poudel today scoffed at the Maoist chairman’s 'presidential dream'.

No wonder, we knew that he was a position thirsty person who went underground after being denied a seat in the parliament in the initial days. i.e the worst person is holding now post of head of state. Gyanendra is ok as a president but no king.He has many good characters to be president, e.g. deaf ears to foreigner, he can send corrupted leaders to jail etc. etc.

I wonder why anybody should give such an importance to his saying anymore. Is he anything more than a brutal murderer who has continued to provoke YCL in the name of good deeds to commit more terriorist acts, a power hungry person who wants to be a face of attraction and speaks what a mass wants to hear, someone who wants to be in media giving controversial remarks and a blunt liar who has spoken nothing but lias in last one 1 year.

If you analyze his saying in last one year you will understand what I am saying. He accussed Palace of committing Madesh Andolan, gave a remark about Palace conspiring for his and other Maoist leaders killing, accussed Palace of planning for foreign Diplomat murder, accussed Prince Paras of hatching propoganda against Maoist leaders, accussed Palace of consipiring against constitutional Assembly election and now he is saying he wants to President of Nepal in next 2 years. Was there any substance and evidence of any of his saying in the past??? NO.

He was just using Media to gain front page attention. In reality, we see his YCL caders killing innocent civilian everyday, his YCL caders throwing stones on foreign diplomat vehicles, his YCL caders causing hindarances in normal life causing strikes and bandas everyday. He is the one who should be punished for his wrong doing but what we see is he wants to be President of Nepal and i will not be surprised if Nepali janta under provocation and terror fulfil his dreams. When we educated people of Nepal (i consider individual commenting on web to be at least educated but necessary learned) still believes his words and view Monarch should be abolished for apparently no reason at all, what can we expect from 87% of Nepali (as per the survey published in Nepalitimes) who do not know what is Constitutional Assembly and Republic State is.

I read comments from Republic supporter that Monarch should be abolished because it is a huge cost for the country, it conspires against democratically elected government, it do not provide political freedom. But my dear friends, if you analyze the facts, any head of State will enjoy the same facilities that the King is currently enjoying. Either it be King or President. Regarding the issue of conspiring against democratically elected government, were you truthfully enjoying democracy in last 12 years or even now in last 12 months when you could not move freely inside your own country because the area were segregated as Maoist control and Army controlled. Was there a democracy in the country when you were attacked by Moaoist and others when you protest for the support of King. Or is there a demoracy in the country when there is a strike or bandha for 15 days in a month. Common guys and gurls,just don't give me your democracy reasoning when you have to live in a country where you can't freely move and have lost the rights of living and have to be in a fear of being kidnapped or abducted everday just because you follow some other ideology. Don't tell me you have better life today than those 15 months or even during Panchayati rule (though i do not support it) just because you can call a strike any time you want hurting someone elses freedom.

Dear friends, think again. Is this the future we want. Either you are in Nepal or abroad I am sure you want to live or want to return to a peaceful and prosporous Nepal. And I do not believe Peace and prosporous Nepal can be achieved following this power hungry meniac.

I hope Maoists are not following the same Bolshevik revolution of Russia where Communist tricked all other political parties and came back to power as a single party. If so, Maoists will keep "Iron Curtain" on the country after they grab the POWER.

There is no doubt that Maoists have popular agendas but can we trust them when they come to power ? As we know Mao ruled China as if he was an emperor of China and closed the country from outside world.

We can keep freedom only when people keep the power by making Maoists to respect "Ballots" but not worship "Guns".

Mayalove is correct, I think he will be killed by his own cadre. may be YCL, Baburam, Badal, Kiran or rebel fraction Madhishe Morcha or Rabindra Shrestha. I am sure the day is not far.
