I find these kind of bandhs really stupid ... i mean  ... they say its peaceful and all those sorts then they burn tyres and try to vandalize the vehicles ... what kind of examples are these "teachers Forum" showing to the students .... the demands put by the forum may be valid but this way of approach is definately not the right way ... and above all ... how come there are young men in the association?? .. weren't the forum should consist of teachers??? ...

Until the police (or some other authority) are given mandate to enforce law and order, such things will keep on occuring for a long time to come.  Given the fact that Nepalese are not afraid to come to street even during curfew, however, I don't see any possibility of the solution.

RPP activist shot dead

Unidentified assailants shot dead Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) activist and former chairman of Sanhaitaha V.D.C, Siraha Thursday night after abducting from his residence the same night.

According to the police, former V.D.C chairman Rajeshwor Yadav, 45, and one another person named Ganesh were abducted by a group of armed men Thursday night while they were sleeping in their house. The group then took the two a little way from the house and fired two shots on Rajeshwor's temple, but amazingly set free Ganesh after beating him. The motive behind the killing was not known, but the police said they have started search operations to nab the assailants. nepalnews.com ag May 26 07

RPP-Nepal not allowed to hold programme

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP-Nepal) led by Rabindra Nath Sharma has decided to suspend its scheduled public programme in Pokhara due to lack of security.

The district security committee informed the party that it will not be able to provide security to its gathering scheduled to be held on Friday. The security agencies said there were possibilities of attack by students affiliated with eight parties as the RPP-Nepal is perceived by them as monarchist party.

Initially, the RPP-Nepal had booked the hall of District Development Committee to hold its gathering. However, the DDC later refused to allow it to hold any programme. Then, the party tried to hold a programme in the office of Magar Association. The administration said it would not be able to provide security there.

Finally, the party decided to hold its programme in Basundhara Park. However, after the district security committee wrote a letter informing their inability to provide security, the party decided to suspend its programme.

The RPP-Nepal leaders have been repeatedly attacked by student activists, particularly those affiliated with the Maoist in recent months. nepalnews.com sd May 27 07

Oh yes...as if the SPAM warlords and criminal gangsters and terrorists believe in law and order. The criminal terrorist illegal people who have formed a so-called government of Nepal are heinous terrorists and what authority do the criminals have to punish other agitators? So are you saying people responsible for Human Genocide (Girija, SHITola, Pushpa Dahal, Makune) should enforce law and order? But eh...these are all warlords themselves who have never believed in any law and order.

And in the meantime, the entire plan of these agitation is by the SPAM criminals themselves. It's the dirty leaders who believe in dirty ideas like closing schools, killing people. It's the SPAM criminals and their dirty plans.

Hardtalk,
You have correctly stated "these are all warlords themselves who have never believed in any law and order."  That sums up the situation in Nepal.  Tribal mentality, this is what I like to call it as.  Nepal is in search of a genuine leader who can restore law and order with conviction.  I am afraid we will have to sacrifice some of our rights in that process.  And frankly I am willing to give up most of my so called "democratic rights" in order to safely live in humane way.  I was simply stating how brazen some have become to openly challenge the authority in non-political issues.  I saw a motorist flipping at a traffic police just because he violated a simple traffic rule.  In other democratic countries, he would have been simply sent to jail.
Peace.
