One day after making public the white paper on the status of the national economy, finance minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat disclosed that the government is planning to bring in a massive rural investment plan.

TO BRING IN A RURAL INVESTMENT PLAN THE AGRICULTURE MUST BE STRONG AND WITH THE GOVERNMENT THINKING ABOUT FURTHER FRAGMENTING ALREADY SMALL LANDHOLDINGS,IT IS BE WISER TO INVEST IN INDUSTRIES,BECAUSE THE RURAL ECONOMY WILL HAVE PERISHED BY SUCH ILL CONVIEVED MOVES BEFORE THE TIME TO INVEST ACTUALLY COMES.
