Army sacks captain; slaps one year jail sentence
At a time when the Nepali Army is facing criticism for not taking any action against the human rights violators, a General Court Martial of the Nepali Army slapped a one year jail sentence on a captain after dismissing him from service for beating up policemen on July 28.

**
Beginning of the end of the Feudal system
**
Captain Robin Bikram Rana got what he deserved. This may be the beginning of the new era in culture of (Royal) Nepali Army. In past they could openly defy civil law and no one would have charged for any wrong doing. In past, Nepali Army is considered as the personal army of His Majesty and the duty of army was to protect His Royal Majesty’s family.
By just bringing Nepal Army under the control of Nepal Government has not changed its corrupt culture and attitude of disrespect to civilian. It is absolutely corrupt establishment which needs restructuring by eliminating all monarchists from the army organization which so far Nepal Government is not able to perform yet. The army chief and senior army officials are still loyal to the monarch.
If Nepal Government is not in control of Nepal Army then what will happen to peace process ?

The Captain got what he deserved..... but meteing out punishment and gloating about it is not the solution. The NA must be made totally loyal to the people of Nepal. Humiliation of other kinds like shouting slogans outside NA camps and other things must stop.....reform is the key.

Surely, it is a good sign and commendable action. When Maoists will get what they deserve? It is absolutely necessary if peace is to prevail in Nepal. If Maoists are allowed to rule instead of subjecting them to face justice, it can be guaranteed that Nepal will undergo another revolt in the scale of far bigger than anybody's thinking. A day will come to reject maoists criminals and corrupt politicians for always.

It is difficult to say that sacking an army personnel positive but has to acted as Army is viewed by everyone as respected and most dicipline force. Anyway they have fought for the country but not necessarily important, anyway they had to follow the order from the superior.
In the pretext of fighiting the actual motto was to save the Drug Lord, Mr. Gyannendra.
Looking at Nepal Police, they are day light gang or robbers who shamelessly ask money with everyone except they know they are VIPs and Ministers.
Police personnet has built giant houses who earn meagre salary. One of the cause of breeding Maoist is Police personnel themselves because they give trouble instead of serving to the people.
Nepal Police personnel has very low mortality compare to Army because they run away from duty and paid no response when people in need asking for help.
If they heard about Bus accident and house on fire they always hurried up to reach over there thinking they can loot unattended properties.
I hate with image of Nepal Police.

The role of army in keeping country's entire security situation intact, can not be rejected. The blame which used to hear that it's only duty is to protect royalists is not seems to be based on full reality, since it have been playing considerable role to evacuate the persoms who are handicapped because of natural calamity and in international field,it has really been playing much better role serving as peace keeping forces in the troubled countries due to the severe impact of civil war and other bilateral and multilateral disputes, that is why Un has provided high ranking commandar position to NA personnels in past and current as well.
But in the field of violation of human rights seems a bit dark side, despite of its efforts to curb down the cases of violation still there needs a lot more reforms in order to improve the image of army in terms of human rights issues. So, the actiona which was taken against the involving officer and others is a welcomed step. The army and police forces need a very strict discipline in order to keep the forces fully managed and controlable situation,if there is a minor misuse in handling weapon and power it might be leading to the great and fatal damgaes of the life and property as well.As mentioned above there is also needs to improve the image of Nepal police forces as well because the role being played by police is not that good in the feeling of people, that is why corrupt and abuser of power must be kicked out immediate from position so people can start to have good feeling of entire police forces.Jai Nepal !

CHECKS AND BALANCES ON THE NA IS A MUST AND EXCESSES ON THEIR PART AND ON ANY OTHER PERSON'S MUST BE PUNISHED.HOWEVER THE NA IS THE NATIONAL ARMY-INSTEAD OF ALWAYS SAYING IT IS LOYAL TO ONE MAN , IT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO INCOURAGE THEM TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THEY BELONG TO THE WHOLE COUNTRY AND THE INSTITUTION IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF NEPAL.GRADUALLY WITH PROPER POLICIES THEY CAN EASILY COME UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE PARLIAMENT IN WORD AND DEED.
