Nepal’s Bid in the UN Security Council Elections

Since the government itself has already tied up the success in the election bid in the non-permanent category of the UN Security Council with the newly restored democracy and freedom in the country, it is all the more imperative to passionately appeal to the international community for their unflinching support and backing for Nepal’s candidature.

To be fair Nepal's record at the Unhad been positive both before and after 1990.The period of conflict and dictatorship imposed by Gyanendra shifted the focus on other issues. Now that things are better the MOFA must concentrate on garnering support for Nepal's bid . with good diplmomacy Nepal as a nuetral country has an important role to play in the UN.

The ideas and opinion expressed by so-called foreign-relation expert was seemed somehow appreciative but it was just like asaying "the doctor after the death " ,so not any helpful tips to that ends. The former minister for foreign affairs also need to take some kind of share in getting worse position Nepal had in voting result of recent UN election for the temporary membeship of UNSC since it was known to all that there had never been such a worse performance in foreign ministry in its history than at the last FM time of Royal regime which left bad impact and contributed to currently also.
