Palace denies taking ‘royalty’ from UK for sending Gurkhas

The Royal Palace has refuted media reports that quoted some former British Gurkha servicemen saying that the palace had been receiving one million pound sterling annually from the British Defence Ministry for sending Nepali youths in the British Army.

It is indeed good to unfold wrong dongs (if any) of the people/institution leading the country. However, after the so-called Jana Aandoolan, we seemed to be totally focused on wrong doings of the palace and the king. It is not fair as the royal institution or the king is not just the one doing wrong things, there are so many other corrupt people and their institutions (political and non-political) who are still involved in holding the power since the post-Jana Aandoolan period. How about them? Will they be brought to the forefront of justice or let them further enjoy their leadership to exploit their fellow countrymen, especially the poor?

GET THE BIG FISH (GYANENDRA) HOOKED FIRST AND THEN WORRY ABOUT THE SMALL FISHES-THEY WILL BE IN THE NET IN NO TIME.

Dear raj66,

I don’t think these small fishes are easy to hook up. They are the most poisonous and look like ugly and dangerous snakes. We  really need special skill to catch them up. I don’t think we have such a skill to do so, otherwise this country would have been well advanced long before and India would have been far behind Nepal by now.  What you reckon?

The only source of information to general people is the media. And the information that the media takes to the general mass is collected or given by journalists or reporters. But is everything reported by the journalists true? If the palace is guilty of such things then it would have accepted that it is guilty of the such baseless accusation. I've said baseless because there is no any base on the news of the palace taking so much money. Has UK given any comments on this reports. Such thing has to be proven before all of us general mass can point a finger at the proven culprit. Dont act through that brainwashed hate coming out of foreign ideology being pushed in by the people whose hands are soaked in the blood of thousands of people. The duty of journalists is to report what is true through much investigation and probing in depth to its truth. Because it concerns the greater mass of people. We wouldnt want to go through news that is reported on some of the most prominent info media on the basis of gossip or on the basis that somebody suspects so. It just adds hatred, put in by disciples following foreign ideology, to general people like RAJ (and his name is RAJ..think about it because that must be his name given by his parents ..so think about the belief and faith of his parents) on an institution which is as old as the nation Nepal itself.

1.My name =None of your business, however you would hardly name someone born in 1966 Rajdrohi when the dictator Mahendra was burying people alive and unleashing terror on the hapless citizens of this country in order to enrich himself.
2.There are records of the palace taking money and things from many sources like siezes gold. Your King gyanendra is a known smuggler of antiques when he was a prince.Contact the Interpol for records or visit their website.
3.What foriegn ideology you are talking about is hard to comprehend and it  is very hard to mass brain wash people these days.Again it was attempted by the Shahs without much sucess.Your views on the media is also not correct as there are ways to croos check what we read.
4.You are very naive to think thtat the palace is going to own up on recieving money or anything like king Birendra's murder, the coup, the killings under G.S's dictatorship.
5.Human beings are inquisitive and innovative-they experiment with change. If we embrace the monarchy just because it is old our country is doomed.fair enough it as old as the country conquered by the Shahs using methods more foul than fair.if we follow you we should still be in the stone age.And if you actually believe every thing must be preserved solely because it is old,I suggest that you don't change your shirt.Wear it for the rest of life .It becomes older and you must not discard it.it is gold.
5.Monarchy as you seem to like has no place in modern Nepal-it is outdated, has outlived it's purpose and in plain words is a burden.
6.Old must make way for the new.

Dear Raj66,
It was very interesting to read you comments on Gorakhsh. However, one thing I do not agree with you is your statement: “old must make way for the new”.

In Nepal, people prefer oldies very much. Look, an 85 year-old Girija is still surviving in his political game and leading the country because people like him as he is an OCTOGENARIAN. Similarly, like in India, Nepali people let old politicians (old political champions) to run the country until they die. I don’t think Nepali can afford to discard oldies to make way for the new. Don’t be over optimistic my bro!

Change is a gradual process and takes time. The way things are currently happening in Nepal are unimaginable and futile. Instead of thinking about plans for the better future of all the Nepali, our politicians and their followers are currently busy taking revenges against the people who they believe are their foes. Actually, they are wasting their valuable time that can be used for re-building the national and re-unifying the various ideologies in a mainstream national development process.

Let us not be too much agressive against others, try to be progressive for the future!

It is an undinable fact that the monarchy is a main factor of our misery.See, for example, he receives 21 crores Nrs annually as for his allowance from the goverment while an ordinary Nepali hardly earns 100 NRs/day.He and his family owned an approximately 40 thousand ropani of lands in around 30 or more districts.  The searching of his proparties in remaining districts is still underway and those stastics will  come in the surface in later days to come.It is my assumtion that this man is the most  richest man of our country and   posses the  wealth equal to more than 38 million ordinary Nepalis. It is quite amasing. Why does this man needs such a large proparties where more than half of the population  is living under completele poverty and are starving to death?.He is a owner of most of all major corporations of the country. Why this man needs such a big businesses? The monarchy in our context  is a white elephant and is a biggest burden.

It is the duty and responsibility of governments of the both countries, Nepal and the UK, to make   the facts public regarding the subject .If it is true it must be stopped immidiately and should be provided  to Nepal Government.

The sources of  news of corruptions, crimes and such incidents is no doubt, are news papers, radios and televisions. Nobady can get such news in elementary school books or in any other literatures. The truthfulness of a news is a different matter.

Please stop using such shamefull and hatefull words to counter opposition`s arguments.Be stick on point. This will take you nowhere.Try to make this discussion forum healthy and useful to we all.
Thank you

First and foremost, The Queen of England And the Emperor of Japan are rubber stamps. They do not do wrong and they never been and are a threat to their governments and to democracy as well. After the successiong of Jana Aandolan 2046 we also have provided  all necessary   privilages   to this institution. There is a proverb in Nepal `` Kukur lai ghyu pachdaina``.This man does not deserve any respect and space .He always thought that we are his slaves. He never accepted people`s soverinty. In fact this man completely lacks the  king like quality.I have no personal prejudice to Mr. Gyanendra. But while you judje a king through the mirror of just, freedom, equality certainly you will find that this man just unfit to hold the throne.
Why should I provide him even single paisa of my earning as I just earn less than 1oo Nrs/day while he gets Nrs.57534.2466/day without any work.
We are not demanding that the money which he gets be given to each Nepali but what our demand is sieze that money and use  to build schools, hospitals, health centres for poor Nepalis,to protect environment and so on and so forth.
Again, our government can use that lands for the benifit of it`s own  citizens.

Components of a being's national identity include physical, psychological, and social attributes;its attitudes, his habits, beliefs and ideas . These components and attributes can each be condensed to the general concepts of national identity.

Please do not be so hypothetical and absurbed. The case of Our poor children and our representatives to any of world organisations are completely different matters.

I again would like to say that   this white elephant  institution be demolished without any delay.Once this man become an ordinary citizen of our country we will have no problem to live together with peace and harmony.
As a citizen he can enjoy every rights that we are enjoying as a citizen right now.And no  citizen`s rights will be deprived from him.
Thank you

My english is fairly good enough for people like u jobless creature to understand. What kind of business do you do anyway; Sweet dream Overseas?? Because of the time you get to go through all the news published and then make a comment on all of them (that too as the first of all the comments!!!!) and again counter other comments, giving absurd loigics as if he is the only learned person among the commentators (have you ever gone through the comments of swapnil??- comments should be as good as his - few, short, unbiased and for the benefit of all Nepalese ). Otherwise you might be some kind of sahuji who has nothing to do except sit in a 'pasal' and 'write comments'. Yes of course most literate people dont understand the comments I made about you. And you proved yourself that you are not among those literates by understanding my comments. And you are idiot too; shirts are non  living thing and you dont need to be so sorry that you made it dirty, believe me. You dont insult a shirt by putting it on and making it dirty; you half boiled brain. As for my self, I am not advocating myself for the King Gyanedra or psycho Paras. Infact if Paras were to me made KIng then there would be no act of punity from the side of Nepalese citizens to the Institution of KIingship. And ofcourse Garbage for a garbage container is always necessary. You are that garbage container who can only spread the stinking hatred but not the feeling of reconciliation and understanding. I agree you want democracy but so does most of the better Nepalese citizens. I am still checking on you whether you are literate or the other one. That is after your comment on this comment. Garbage.
