The Ministry of Land Reforms and Management has revealed that King Gyanendra and his family own nearly 40 thousand ropanies of land around the country apart from ownerships in major hotels and business ventures.

To be fair Gyanendra was a businessman before engineering his way to the throne.He has every right to own shares and business property.As for the royal lands the ministry should relaise that royalty all over the world have large tracts of land.Till the fate of monarchy is decided it will not be in the interest of democracy to meddle in such trivial issues.

Being originally from Pokhara, I was saddened to see the land near the boat launch area to Barahi Mandir grabbed by the king and his relatives. When I was growing up, we used to have a huge public land for picnic and recreation for the visitors. Now, there is not even a picnic spot left for the local residents.

The land must be returned to the public and convert it to a national recreation and preservation area.

Well, the royals are the royals afterall. But what about the so called leaders? How about the land property they own? What about the corruption they did before the royal takeover and now? Will they be punished at all?

So far, as I see it, what the parliament and the government is doing is just taking revenge over the King and making sure he will not raise again. But if they continue like this, will the public leave them? Am certainly not gonna leave them. They will have to publicise their assets as well. Proper action should be taken to those accused by the CIAA.

Khum Bahadur Khadka, Govinda Raj Joshi, Chiranjivi Wagle et all are still free and attending the parilament session. When will they be put behind the bars? And what about the corruption done by the PM himself? Will he be ever persecuted?

If this government wants to prove itself, then it has to take actions, proper logical actions.

Mr Siriusblack, I fully agree with you. By the way, you forgot to mention the name of former PM Deuba. When he was Deupa (not Deuba), he used to sleep on the rice straw mattress at the top floor of one of the Krisaks' house(Jyapu's house) at Ghattee Kulo. Now after being the minister, he has been living in a  castle like house in Narayanthan. Many people think he got this house as a daijoo, but I don't believe it is just daijoo, it   includes khaijoo too.

All of us know that not just the king, but most of the politicians, bureaucrats and technocrats in our country are corrupt. Consequently, we are always behind in national development as well as even fulfilling the basic needs of our needy people.
