The Maoist idea of a state and federal govt is a good one !! Now they must agree to their arms management for things to proceed.

They must stop their nonsense demand of arms management of the Nepal Army. The Nepal Army is the state's army, where on Earth have you heard of a country's arms being managed to negotiate a truce. Lets not forget who the Maoists are.

The Nepal Army can be monitored by the UN and other such bodies.

Besides, everyone knows in the Maoists that have hold over most of the rural areas with their various 'terror' tactics.

"They have also proposed to divide the country into nine states namely Kirat, Madhesi, Tharuwan, Newar, Tamang, Tamuwang, Seti, Mahakali, Bheri and Magarat."

Hmmm... very interesting indeed. So where do all the Bahuns, Chettris and rest of the people not mentioned above fit in? I guess Mr. Dahal and Mr. Bhattarai will find a suitable place for all the Bahun and Chettris to live.

When the world is moving towards desegregation and amalgamation, Nepal seems to be heading towards  the exact opposite. Now this is what I call "PRATIGAMI"

Why should we believe such hypocrisies? First the Maoists say they wan a unified Nepal then they segregate it into ethnic communities. It is like returning Nepal back to the days of yore where wars were fought between various princely states.
I can almost smell the foundations of well proven, dirty practice of divide and rule, being laid. First by the monarch now by the Maoists. Hummm…. Any relations here?
It looks like for every step we take forward we go back by ten.
Just another reason to get rid of the parasitic Parachanda and his lot, once and for all,a major hinderance in Nepals development.

Yes, Federal Republic Government proposal is effective to decentralized powers and developments. But it is not wise to name with ethnic groups or caste just to show solo representation of those people only. We also need to respect minority who live with them. Prachanda ji is showing extreme leftism to divide the whole country in several states before unification. May be he wants to be hero by dividing people and rule. Some rullers used the same soft principle to get local supports for their regime before. Grin

EVERY SIDE HAS THE RIGHT TO PROPOSE SOMETHING......HOWEVER THE PEOPLE THROUGH THE BALLOT MUST  DECIDE ON THE FATE OF THE MONARCHY AND OTHER ISSUES AS WELL AS WHICH PARTY RULES FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.

If voting changed anything, they'd abolish it.
