Righting the Wrongs of Nepal’s Peace Process

After the signing of eight-point understanding between Nepal’s seven political parties (SPA) and the Maoists, the peace process seemed to have gained a lot of momentum. However, the current status of the eight-point pact can best be described as: “The operation was successful but the patient is still dead.”

This is a very clear and true picture of current situation in Nepal, and not just pointing out the problems but offering solutions as well. Good article. Smiley Smiley Smiley

This is indeed a good article. Meanwhile, one thing that bothers me always is that how far the seven parties have bestowed their faith on Maoist? Were these seven parties fully convinced before signing on the 12 point-understanding documents that Maoist really and truly wanted peace and democratic political path for the development of Nepal? If not, these seven parties  will have to pay the price for the people for their undue judgement of the intention of the Maoist in the process of peace keeping and upholding democratic rights of the entire citizens of Nepal.

The dwarf sees farther than the giant, when he has the giant's shoulders to mount on.

If we desire to live securely, comfortably, and quietly, that by all honest means we should endeavor to purchase the good will of all men, and provoke no man's enmity needlessly; since any man's love may be useful, and every man's hatred is dangerous.
