It is supprising to read the argument made by NAFEA officials. First, the tax is to be paid by the manpower agent and NOT the worker, how can this decission of the government add burden to the workers ?? Again, when the manpower agents are charging NPR 70,000 and above for employment in countries like Qatar, UAE, Saudi etc, which is very very high, why they are not worried about this ??

How much justifiable is the remakrs of former President Tamangs to sent workers via India and skip the charges of Labour Department (which is not above NPR 5000 per worker) to reduce the burden on the workers Huh And in the event the workers get into problem overseas, ask the Govt. to rescue ??

Why does the manpower agents just look at their profit ? How can they justify the commission they pay (ranging from USD 300 to 450 per worker) to the overseas agent for sending workers ? Can NAFEA clearify how they are sending this money the the overseas workers ? Is any formal channel used or they are using HUNDI and misusing the foreign currency earned by the workers ?

When will the manpower agnets start working with dignity and loyality ? When will they do clean business ? When will they stop cheeting the poor workers ? Now they want to put the tax (which the agent is supposed to pay to the govt) on the head of the workers ??

Its realy supprising. Huh

MOST OF THE FOREIGN EMPLOYMENT ENTREPRENEURS ARE CHEAT. THEY JUST WANTED TO EARN MORE MONEY AND NOT BOTHERED ABOUT THE PLIGHT OF THE LABOURERS. THEY ARE CHEATING THE NEPALI PEOPLE. LOOK AT THE DEATH OF 12 NEPALI WORKERS IN IRAQ IN 2004 THAT WAS DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE OF MANPOER COMPANIES. EVERY TIME WHEN THERE IS POSSIBILITY OF EARNING LESS, THEY STARTS PROTEST AND OTHER THINGS. THEY ARE THE BURDEN TO THE COUNTRY.

If the tax imposed by the government is fair, then action must be taken if the manpower agencies try and bypass Nepalese authorities. If the taxation is resulting in a situation where the agencies can simply not afford it anymore then it must be reviewed.Good for both concerned. And., ofcourse, the labourers being exported must not bear the brunt of the outcome considering the inability of our market to absorb them.
