“There is continued gap between Maoists’ commitments and their actions”

Thank you for the invitation to be with you today. Having witnessed the inspiring events of the “Jana Andolan” in April, I am pleased to be here to share in the excitement of Nepal’s move back to democracy and to reiterate my country’s support for the new Nepal Government and for the democratic aspirations of the Nepali people.

Mr. Moriarty is the one who used to say "Time for rhetoric is over and the time for action is now" regarding the political impasse of the nation.  What exactly is his government's road map?  And should Nepal simply follow that map?

There are lots of true tings in his speech but continued disbelief on Maoists. However, a soften and positive, it seems now.

But what he said are right, if Maoists are talking about competing in CA, they should be in line with main strem parties in action.

And also, they should be transparent in their decision process as well. They should let people know, who are supporting their current actions in their parties, and let also come out voices of disappointment within the party.

As the CA election is coming closer you should be more visible to the people. People wont accept a suspense box. You wont win with maoists vote alone.

Laying down the arms is ok but who ensures us from next Gyanendra's coup ? I think it should be valid for both pla and (G)NA.
Otherwise maoist will lay down the arms and Gyane will introduce Panchayat system.
Mr. Moriarty was the second looser of Janandolan 2 after gyane: he was neglected by gyane, spa, maoists etc. he has nothings to say in nepal.

I sort of agree what American Ambassador has said.  No doubt, there are good fellows in Maoist groups but their policies getting the revolution following Chairman Mao or Stalin’s principal is not suitable to our soil.  Nepali people have already shown various times what they want or what the best is for them, recent Jan Andolan or some kind of unhappiness in early 1990s shows us we can do in our own Nepali way.  We're the people of valleys, high mountains and foothills of the mountains a perfect mix of people don't need to follow Mao or Lenin's strategy to bring democracy or socialism or peace in our country.  We had done in the past, are doing and will be doing ourselves to bring peace in our country or to uplift Dalits to the higher level./.....we can do ourselves.  Lord Shiva (our imaginary power) is there to guide us and after all we are from Land of Buddha, I don't think Buddha's teaching mentions about castes.  Let us slowly abolish castes under the umbrella Hinduism.  Lord Shiva's Puran doesn't mention about lower caste or higher caste system.  I came somewhere in between, let us abolish it. However, let us not abolish spiritualism or Shakti within ourselves

If you ask this Lekali Bahun, we need to put Prachanda, Baburam Bhattarai, Kamal Thapa ( he is just opposite of Kaji Amar Singh Thapa or Bhimsen Thapa) or few others in
facilitated Bandi Khana (Ghar Bandi) and let them listen our views as well.  By the way, first three names I mentioned were my classmates one time or other.

Gularia tense after Maoist attack victim dies

Kantipur Report

KATHMANDU, Feb 26 - Gularia remained tense following the death of a person who was injured during an attack by the Maoists on Sunday.

According to a local Ram Lal Yadav, one Zileram Yadav of Gularia-3 was injured in a Maoist attack while attending a marriage procession.

Yadav had died Monday morning while undergoing treatment in India.

The body of the deceased was brought back to the district hospital for post mortem from Baharaich, India, where he was undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, Arun Kumar Yadav, who was also injured in the attack, is out of danger now.

As soon as the news of the incident spread, the hospital premises were thronged by worried locals. The police have heightened security in the premises to avoid any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, Bardia was affected on the second day of the indefinite strike called by the Madhesi community demanding the release of a local Kittu Yadav. Yadav, who was accused of murdering a local Maoist Madhesi leader Nankau Godia, was taken into police custody on Thursday.

Due to the banda, shops, businesses, transportation services and factories in the headquarters Guleria are completely shut.

According to the police, vehicular movement on the east-west Mahendra Highway and the Nepalgunj-Guleria road has been completely halted.

On the other hand, Maoists allege that it is a "conspiracy" to foil the mass meeting to be held tomorrow in Nepalgunj, which is to be addressed by the Maoist chairman Prachanda.
