We have 24 million people -- how is it a small country??. It is also a country that is prone to earthquake, flood, landslide - army is the only force so far with the disciple to deal with the issue so far (soon it will also be just like any gov office, with your grand ideas) . Why not prepare the army in that direction (if they are not involved in fighting - that depends entirely upon your actions), - who do u think is going to come to the rescue should there be one natural disaster -- your people's army??

Instead of reducing the already-existing number of armies, preparing them for natural emergency cases would definitely be a good idea. There is no need of bunch of violent armies (including Maoists), but there is a need of helping armies. It's a fact that there is no way the ferocious armies can defend the country in case of whatsoevery foreign attack, but surely the helping hands of armies can wipe off the tears of troubles. Change the GUNNED army to RESCUE army.

Prachanda,(I call him prachanda and not ji or mr becasue if he can call Girjababu Girja-if you watch his interview in Kantipur TV. It is not that i respect Girjababu highly but he is a senior and Prachanda is full of ego), your revolution reached so far becasue Nepal didnot have adequate army and not well equipped. So we need army as per International standards and if there is any voilence in future like you did, we need army

The idea of militia is not bad. BP too had the same concept on nepalese army and security. The only thing the strong amred force in nepal can do is protect distatorship and kill nepalese people. There is nothing the armed force can do in case we had conflict with inida or china. Militia can be a good alternative to huge permanent force for country like nepal.

A dictator never talks on reducing permanent amred force and trained militia as an alternative, and I appreciate Mr. Prachandas thinking and nationalism in this regard.

Jai Nepal's opinion is  100% wrong. The revolution reached so far, not because maoists are good but Gyane and parties' performances were worse.
Gyane: too much desires of power and autocracy
Parties: many corrupted leaders
maoist: not ok but People have no other alternative. there was possibility to dominate maoist's revolution, if Gyane and corrupted leaders were sent to jail and educated new generation leaders like Gagan thapa get chance to rule the country on people's mandates.
more army of this type means more rapping, more killing of innocent people, just the character of our future king paras.
paras is hero of 1000 and 1 nights' anecdote: the hero of that anecdote liked to have sex with a woman only once and killed her on next morning, till one came and told him every night one interesting things  to be safe from being killed.

Mr.Prachanda it wil be historic only if you and your rebels abide by it.By the way are you in control of your outfit?Words suggests you are but activities don't.It will be nice if you clarify. After all you intend to be part of a interim administration soon. With this comes responsibility. And I hope you have relaised that you will have to work within the multi-party framework.Opposition to Gyanendra  must not be mistaken as support for you.As for a majoirity of us you and the King are two faces of the same coin.try and change our minds by deeds not words.
