Well...first of all im not exctly sure how sc defines public places. I reckon it means resturants, public park and bus station..... Thats good (bad for me  Grin ) however has sc thought about smokers???are they gona create special rooms for smokers??? I know it sounds stupid but it is important for us......i know it is bad for us and around us and the environment and .... . Ive been smoking for 2 yrs and bought me first smoke legally at age 17.  I had option yes or no .....unfortunately I choosed yes. Now if sc bans smokin in public place i wana know where i can smoke freely without any hesitation from public. (The gov provides it and i have right to know)
In my opinion what sc must do before smoking ban : -
- must not sell smokes to any person under age i.e 18
- show alternatives for cigarette for instance nicotine patch
- offer free clinic who wants to quit smokin

It is againist our fundemental rights. We can choose the way we die.And now no smoking in planes, airports, inside houses etc.The air outside belongs to all.Light up if you want, but avoid indoors and infront of children.

A Very Good step toward healthy and eco lives for all
Young generation under 19 age should be banned smoking toabacco in any form to stop early smoking addiction in their growing. If young people stop copying and imitating smoking  by  law, there will be more speedy progressive positive activities in their lives. I was too enflunced by a fren while in teen. But quit it with many attempts.  Grin

Just putting a ban on smoking in public place may not be helpful in the context of our country. First we need to make a proper regulations on the smoking habit. Have we restricted the sell of tobbacco to a certain age group? Do we have a proper regulation on the advertisement of such product? And if yes, are they been followed? Because, until and unless these above facts are not been taken care of the ban on smoking in public places might not help.
I live in a developed country. Even this country has banned smoking in public places. but this step is been taken just few years back. before they banned selling of tobbacco to underaged people, and advertisement of such products in public media. I think we need to make proper regulations on such products and make sure it is been followed properly, and later on putting ban on smoking.

We smokers must go on a relay hunger strike-our rights have been trampled upon. The Health Minister must resign...only joking...a good move and the encouraging thing is that more and more people have began starting smoking outside and fellow passengers protest if one lights up in public transport.
