India and the pain of Kalapanis and Sustas
By Anand Gurung
Just a day after the parliamentary committee on Human Rights and International Relations led by Amik Sherchan and an “all-party” monitoring team concluded that Indian side had indeed encroached upon Nepali land in the bordering areas of Dang district and that locals living there were forced to flee their homes due to continued atrocities on them by the Indian border security force personnel, an interview of the Indian ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood appeared in the leading Kantipur Daily on Sunday in which he again dismissed claims (based on media reports) that Nepali land has been encroached upon by India in Dang and that its Border Security Force were involved in appalling atrocities against Nepali citizens living there.

Fence the boarder, that is only one solution. No need to be sentimental for culture, relation, friendship so and so. Frinedship will be boosted once fence is built on. Always doing kitch kitch worsen the relationship.

Even International law can be turnaround when it's necessary. It's the Western world who is the master for making and breaking a policy and they do often when it's absolutely necessary. If law or any treaty is not fit for it's people then it should be changed under the circumstances!!!
Recently, take an example of the Gurkha's Case! the British changed the Law which was agreed before 1st Warld War? and now we are talking about 50 years of Treaty??? and can't be changed? why not? Get the International people to solve this problem!
This Kalapani treaty needs to demolished and make a fair one and let every single Nepalese know about this treaty.
I strongly believe that ~ it's us, the people who makes the law and order therefore we can change any law even if its already agreed. There is no such a law that can't be changed!!!

I think, if India doesn't cooperate with us then we should call for China's Help. Without China, India has already taken our land, Nepal.
I think we should play intellectual games but I don't trust our leaders who are dogs of India. But we should not allow our leaders to cheat us this time.
Keep on eye on them, Guys!!!

WHETHER IT IS WATER OR BORDER ISSUES WE MUST LEARN TO NEGOTIATE TO OUR ADVANTAGE WITH GREATER SKILLS. IT IS EVIDENT THAT WHENEVER THE TWO SIDES SIT DOWN THE INDIAN SIDE IS MORE KNOWLEDGABLE AND HAS A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF HE PROBLEM. THIS ENABLES THEM TO MAKE THINGS WORK AS PER THEIR AGENDA. BETTER NEGOTIATION TEAMS WILL SURELY PUT OUR VIEWS AND CONCERNS STRONGLY ACROSS THE TABLE AND IT MUST BE BACKED BY A STRONG POLITICAL WILL THAT PUTS PERSONAL INTERESTS BEHIND NATIONAL INTERSESTS.
