the person responsible should be charged and prosecuted, his/her diplomatic immunity shouldn't cover attempt of murder which is clearly stated by the fact that he/she tried to fly the scene of the happening, we should urge our leaders to grow some balls and do whats right

rather than balls BRAINS
insurance covers all of this so of course ambassy people have insurance that is the question and in any case ambassy itself if they do not give easily visa yes let them do humanitarian what is correct.
We are not talking to a racist administration any longer on the contrary.
the bad news is if all bureaucracy and red tape will take a long time but this is a matter of a good lawyer also non existing in kathmandu cheaters advertise on internet.
Proof may be the problem.
Easy these days to get newspapers commenting but proof is needed. Another thing in jurisprudence is precedent we do not want a precedent next day anyone hits their buddy and telephone the dollar consulates for salary ok.
but if it is true they pay no problem. somebody do paperwork. I think journalists better than lawyers lawyers all confused they lost power and new government ignoring the former corrupt castes. I see more problems nepalese side than american side. so. boy o boy do we love scandals. some protester in london died of heart attack people should control themselves and emotions. accicents are unfortunate and in kathmandu many times i saw people beat each other over nothing so if the person was afraid that is normal.typically many police on the spot do the wrong thing.
i was in a taxi girl on motor goes in front taxi without horning girl falls i really said nothing but made my presence felt and went out to defend the driver. mistake is human but driver will always be blames. in the motorcycle case girl was rich student and driver poor dirty so. i think everyone around understood pretty girl was stupid but no one defended dirty driver so. when they are rich let them pay if they can if they are innocent who did it.

i do not see how the" VISA" the" CASTE" the" RACIST GOVERNMENT" or whatever  fits in this whole scenario, its just a simple matter of right and wrong the embassy vehicle was spotted flying away from the scene and was caught soon with the driver inside plus there is a witness to the scene, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out what transpired.

For sure, Americans know the costs of letting a person in coma be treated in a hospital. In Nepal, we have had several incidences in the past when the vehicle after hitting a person pulled back and ensured that the victim is better dead. This was a favorable as when accident is proven the compensation to the victim, whoever gets it, is low.

I wonder that Americans have not killed this guy and he is let to remain in coma. I will not be surprised if he dies questionably. Common! Americans are no saints. They are as ass***e as any one else anywhere. Having said so, what can one say about someone lying in coma. Well, I hope that Americans can be lenient and pay for the medical costs by at least assuming that such cost are very small in Nepal compared to US. It is a sad story.

Knowing the awesome way people ride the motor cycles in Kathmandu and in Nepal, I think that there is an equally possible chance that this guy is responsible for ramming his motorcycle -possibly by not following traffic rules. I remember once a motorcycle rammed into the left door of a car. He wanted to overtake the car from the left of the car.

I'm very sorry for Sunny and his loving family after reading your news. Meanwhile I'm so angry to bloody americans.

Accident happened on 9th March and its 2nd of april today. I regularly visit Nepal news site but did I miss this news before or is this the first time its been published?

My concern is what the only witness (traffic police) saying now; is he changing his mind?

Shame on all those students and political activities who simply shut-down (Nepal Band) whole county for no good resons are not doing anything...they need to sorround the embassy just for couple of days!!!

And the truth is our country is not also capable of commenting in these sort of sensetive matter for the sake of diplomatic reason.

What happened to bloody  Prachanda who used to critisise US!!!

I pray to pasupatinath that the injured Sunny recovers soon and Jennifer L. Kar who is responsible for this act send to jail.

Please update the news regularly in your website.

Hit and run,is a felony ( criminal act ),so its should be dealt as per prevailing laws and humanitarian ground as well.It would be better to both parties to resolve the case in a mutual understanding and there must be proper care of victim. No effort needs to be left in caring the life of victim.Nepal government needs tke this issue as per legal and and diplomatic dealings.May Almighty God bless victim in making him able to have normal life !

So much shocking and disturbing news. An investigation to the full extent is a must and it is there at its side, however, an immediate action as a gesture of humanitarian and honour of human beings is expected!

I think the best way to attrack the media is that you take a video of the guy and upload it at the http://edition.cnn.com/ireport/.

I´m sure they´ll take the issue to a broader community and force the diplomats to help that poor guy.

We all know that our government wont do shit about it. and we know the mentality of American/western diplomatic community when it comes down to the so called "3rd world countries"  I agree with others on this and we should try to get the news to the western world coz whatever goes down in Nepal wont bother them at al, its their own people who need to know about it and only they might flinch,

may pashupati nath be with the famlily

Thank God the vehicle was identified by the police otherwise they would have blamed the Maoists and whole Nepal will be stand still with Nepal Band organised by the political parties. On top of that Deuba and Oli will not hesitate to demand the removal of the Maoists led Government. Why are they keeping lips tight now? This is the real truth about Nepal. Worship for power and money is still being practiced by the authorities. It reminds me of Paras hitting people with his car and getting away. Diplomats should not be allowed to go on driving recklessly and killing people.

By the way, let us not forget that accident could be the fault of guy in Comma. I think coming to the conclusion on recklessness by the embassy driver should be left to the investigators. Let us focus that investigators does a correct job. It will not be easy to get help from Americans even if their fault is proven. Typically, Americans never do mistake. They have nuclear bombs, which guarantee that they can never do wrong.
