I am not sure what this royal army (not to save people but only Gyanendra and co.) really intends.
-if they do not fallow the directives of Nepal Government, the royalist army will be disempowered and no coup is possible in future, therefore they are artificially accepting all and will again initiate a coup. Nobody can trust such army who have detained their own chef (priminister = chef of security council) on behalf of Gyanendra extra odinary power desires, now are committed to work for People. Roll Eyes Parties has to send all royalist army in pension.
-but it may be true, every one is running after power and money, now army convinced that noly people has the true power and Gyanendra has no money, therefore they are really converted to people's army. Grin

Memorial Day Message from Poetry Junctions

Our Bravest Souls

Our Bravest Souls on this day sleep,
The memory of, we hold so deep.
Called to duty, we hold them dear.
Sent into war, they faced their fear.

These fallen brothers, sisters too,
Daughters and sons, our nation’s true,
Are taken to rest, on hallowed ground,
Heroes of Freedom, here they are found.

So take a moment to hear the Peace.
The quiet you’ll find will not cease.
A minute of silence is surely due,
As remembrance of these special few.

‘Fore the days over , ‘fore you lay down,
Think of those lost from your home town,
And ne’er forget the price they did pay,
Remember them still this Memorial Day.

A very welcome move. I hope General Thapa spends the rest of his term convincing the rank and file of the army in particular the elite that the army needs to loyal to the country and not to one man. Although the army commited abuses we must not forget that the maoists were no less brutal. If members of the army need to punished so do members of the maoists responsible for absuses.Let us remember today the NA is the offical security organ of the state while the maoists are still rebels. If the maoists change their mind the country still needs the army. Also the lower ranks of the army did not have an exactly pleasant outing in recent years as some would like to believe.
