Remodeling Democracy in Nepal The state failed to address the problems of poor, marginalised and indigenous groups and the power politics was scaling up without addressing the problems, there was, and still is, much skepticism about the capacity of conventional democracy to involve ordinary citizens in shaping and implementing the public policies.

in most countries once upon a time elected they go doing what we expect them to do.
So what could one expect from the actually chosen, pretty much what they are doing.
Should people have opted for past rulers? I really think the current political scenario is what reality in Nepal is and democracy mainly is NEW and young and there is defenitely no democratic tradition. As a european westerner I am continuously crying at the lack of democracy, corruption and stealing of everyone, it seems to be a lifestyle.
Because they are not anymore aware of it the neigbours do it, the brothers do it they all do it, gossip, lie and steal.
or burn tyres for democrazy.
Nepal has a long way to go and probably the job of writing press is to mediate between the people that get ripped of, have lived for generations in slavery and the old gang of mafiosi.
No i have no faith in nepalese democracy it is exactly like India no one likes to change.
Main thing I repeat seems to be the creation of jobs. There is amongst young people no good attitude to want to work and the environment is not encouraging.
Between crying and praying there is a hell of a lot of education to do. Suppose they all stop fighting and the economy gets repaired democratic pacification is what most countries have. They just do not have to express their feelings so violently continuously. Those are the places people like to go. Multicultural societies with reasonable integration level.
Instead of complaining maybe we should rejoice in all that has been accomplished yet be mindful to keep a harmonious balance between conflicts of interests.
What would people give hope which is not the economy which is not hopeful? The peace progress.
