Chow Chow republic

The fuzzy little wiry things known as chow chow has not only become a popular food in Nepal, but has become one of Nepal's leading exports now. Why not give it a due recognition?

I don't see any connection of momo regarding to "Chow Chow republic" article. Why can't you be more specific? First I thought the heading is wrong. The article talks about momo in the beginning which is complete waste of time for those looking for information about noodles.

having been a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal, i have had my share of momo's and chowchow.  the article brought back fond memories of both of these food items.  the good times shared at a local momo shop at post with other volunteers who may have come to town to shop or collect their mail.  it also reminded me of the times when a nepali co-worker was reassigned to kathmandu and when i was i ktm we would reconnect and he took me to  a momo shop in one of the ktm bazaars.  the place was packed and the momo steamer was huge, it seemed like it was 3' in diameter and the noise from the gas stove was like a furnace blasting in your ear.  waiwai was a good fall back meal for volunteers, cheap, easy and as you said...eat it hot or cold.  i remember seeing bus passengers eating the cold waiwai, sprinkling on the seasoning packet, it was the equivalent of flavored american potao chips.
