Koshi disaster: It is time to act

For two weeks of havoc that Koshi flood wreaked in the eastern district of Sunsari, the governments Nepal and India failed to start works to stop further degradation of the embankment but continue to exchange words over who is responsible for the disaster that has displaced over 50,000 in Nepal and over a million in India.

In this case, I am not to blame only Indian side for whatever reasons.
Koshi Rever belongs to Nepal, and a kind of agreement was made for whatever reason say Nepal is Seller and India is a buyer.

In a trading system, seller has obligations to maintain some agreements.

Knowing the poor construction from Indian side and substandard quality of embankment causes both side to suffer a lot.

My point is the embankment is good for all side in order to control the flow of water and possible sweeping of the side flooding.

However, for this particular case, both expectation did not meet the criteria and Nepal is more responsible to monitor the site each and every time because the river belongs to us.  However, Indian side also must be visible since both side has to suffer equally because of the ignorance.

Not only profiting any side and for any reason, for humaniterian ground, we must protect our soil, land and river that means we must safegurad our people from such a shameful design and constructions.

Certainly, its a time to act,not political games including blaming each-others are the needs to address the current pain of people affected by this man-made and invited problem of Koshi. At the same time unnessarily visiting by most ministers does not make any cotributorial role to the same.
