Thapa meets Maoist leadership to convey King Gyanendra's tidings
As the countdown for declaring Nepal a republic begins with only weeks left for the first sitting of the Constituent Assembly to take place, King Gyanendra has reportedly said that he just wishes for a "respectable status" even though that means according him cultural and religious rights only.

This meeting has sent shock waves among the Royalists of the discussion forum. The King’s exit is being discussed. I think the Royalists should be grateful that at least the King will not be kicked out of the palace but will be given a graceful farewell. I strongly feel that the king’s old Nepalese Anthem should be played for the last time as a respect to him when he exits the palace and also play the new anthem to remind him that this is the verdict of the people and this is what they want.

To be fair to the Nepalese people who sacrificed themselves in thousands and to the recent election mandate, I guess we should remove the word "king" from the constitution and the society if we were to move towards a class-less society.
India which became republic more than half a century ago still has maharaja's and they are all creating a society of "class". If we were to learn any lessons from India we should ban the use of "raja", "Shree 5" and associated hierarchical phrases currently in use for royalties unless they are used to form someone's name (or similar situations).
Giving king a cultural status will keep monarchy alive in some format which is against the ethos of the Jana Andolan. I would be surprised to see people in the 21st century Nepal accepting the king as an avatar of Bishnu - if Geeta or Vedas portray king as an avatar of Bishnu, perhaps it is time to rewrite them too so that these books make sense to us all.

[size=102pt]Many people are going to be sad and sorry to seethe exit of the King. I do not mean that group includes the Extremist Radical Hindus and mandalęs who took advantage of the King. What I am talking about the true Nepalese who really respect and adore the culture of Nepal. The Radical Hindus who favor caste system and the corrupted mandalęs have done tremendous harm to the king to a degree that it will be difficult to revive the Monarchy to its previous glory. But I still hope that we could maintain the King in some form without effecting the Democratic or republic set-up by totally keeping out of influence of the saffron brigade and the corrupted mandalęs. Well, we should no more be talking about this topics. The king and the monarchy must be thrown out from the very root. There should be no more arguments nor negotiations from any sector in religious point of view or any. It is upto the King whether he wants to leave the palace respectfully or he wants the people throw him forcefully.

Throwing King out of the Country would be a great mistake by Nepali people. We cannot make any more blunders. Handing all power to political parties like Maoists won't help Nepal and that is a fact. This would give them a key to do whatever their interest are on.
THEY (MAOISTS) ARE NOT FOR NEPALI PEOPLE. THEY ARE THERE FOR THEMSELVES. I don't know why people ignored what they have done in past and elected them. GOD only know what going to happen next.
I pray for peace which do not seem to happen. It is not working for anyone but Maoists. Only KING can do something for the sake of nepali people at this time and He should step up (I don't care what force he uses for that).
Peace,
A

Why should he leave the country?as it is his too, like mine and of millions of nepalis. It's disgusting to be stubborn on his previous stance.I think there'll be some people(between commas to define them)always considering him the King for different reasons be it personal, religious or just to pay the price of salt they've been tasting for years, but there is only one difference from now on and that is;"they'd do consider him so but in a private environment."I can pray even a demon inside my home but abiding by the law of land. And respecting the human rights as the principalities of any modern society. If not he has to face the same fate as one who disrespects the above mentioned things. For once he and his belovers should start to think that he is one more between millions of people in this world, this is the thing of which they are not accostummed at all.Their years of presummed lives lead them to here, nobody else made it be possible.

Nobody is going to give a damn about Thapa’s warning. It is too late now. Had the meat head Thapa advised the king to refrain from taking of the power two years earlier Gyanendra would have saved from extinction of the Monarchy. Now it is too late and if the King starts taking the advice of Kamal Thapa, king will be kicked and not a graceful exit. People Nepal have already spoken and will not budge in to the that Hindu Extremist Kamal Thapa.

The frequent regular contacts and meetings between the leadrers of former rebels force, now emerging as major political force, and leader of supporting monarchy, are the positive and constructive side of policy of " Reconcialition and National unity ",which, at this point of criticle juncture,is a most needed and relevant step to save country from the evil external forces.
The nation and nationality come first and there must not be any compromise regarding the same. There is no question of democracy and people's liberty in absense of nation and its non-divisible assest sovereignty. So,democarcy at the cost of nationality and unity is no more worhy and workable, which late B.P.,the only seen visionary statesman till todate, always imphasised and adopt the same even at the cost of his life.
The very challenging and most dangerous games playing by International actors in the sugar-coated policy naming helping Human Rights and democracy in Nepal is clearly threatened and endangerd the stability and unity of the Independent nation.Besides the numerous attempts and strategies to this very effects, the recent two events are strong enough to clearify the fact, these are : The visits of Newly appointed Indain ambassador at residence of the Chairman of CPM ( Maoist ) and begging ( proposing ) the ceremonial presidential position to G.P. Koirala and clearly seeking the role of NC leader GPK, and the activities in fevour of ' Free-Tibet " and harsh reactions of Chinese ambassador including appearanced at Repoter's club, are vivid examples which might be turned into great troubled and inmanageable problems in the days to come.
Giving the appropriate and justifiable space to all existing political forces is the sustainable and suitable mode of democracy and best and longlasting remedy in addressing the ongoing conflict in a logical and conclusive manner.Applying the tender heart and methodology of Mr.Nelson Mandela, the statesman and former president of S,Africa,to Nepal as well by the leaders presently rulling the country,is a only and viable medication to save Neapl and its democratic prospect.
There are various models of republican system in the world. The position of president is not only and most necessity requirement of republic, there were monarchy in the republican state in ancient India and Nepal. So,giving the cultural and religious role but not a executive and political role to current monarchy is one of the best and manageable solution to the present crisis.Indeed, complete isolation, ignorg, deprievation from respectable space and non-accomodation of monarchy in the chaged context would equally be challenged and obstacle before getting national goal of United, prosperous and peaceful Nepal.

Lebelling charges and counter-charges put us in crisis ,non-understanding,impatience and visionless, which only impaired our creative talent and wisedom.
This is the age of democracy, people have choises to chose the thought he or she likes but inner heart and conscience always ask the one do thing carefully and right way otherwise be raedy to be sufferer and spoiled.Let us be sensible and dutiful in realizing the situation and challeges.
