I'm really proud of Prasant as he comes from Nepali origin and has won such a prestigious competition in India. We all Nepali should be proud of and congratulate him.

Thanks Prashant ! Bravo !! You have become an instrumental thread to line up all Nepalese at home and abroad. Once again, we can win the battle together. The sick political masters should learn a lesson from you. Keep it up and sing more & more.

GOOD DAY !

INDIAN = IDOL
Hard work and a lot of luck brought Prashant Tamang to a place where he will be remembered by a lot. He has now chance even to be remembered for a long time. I do admire his courage and hard work.
I have nothing against him but there is something intriguing about the whole event. We nepali's farthest horizon has been limited to India. Whatever happens in India is blinding everything else in the world. A person from Nepali origin became Indian Idol, very good, but what is all these celebration at home? He is not a Nepali, neither will he ever contribute to Nepali music, nor will he ever want to change his citizenship to Nepali. Being nepali and speaking nepali is two different thing. We could see a person from Chinese origin, Chang also made it to a good place, but we never heard any enthusiasm from chinese people. Chinese people know that he is not chinese anymore, he is an indian and only indians can be proud of indians. If we feel all the nepali speaking people are nepali, then why make fuss about the bhutanese refuge? Why not accept them all as nepali and let them live as nepali rather than putting them in the refuge camp? Or are only those who come to limelight are qualified to be nepali? Even Udit loves to call himself indian, manisha is indianized and why we think prashant would be nepali?
The problem with us is we are more or less indian in our own mind. We just try not to show it in open. We follow each and every program in India and we celebrate some indian's victory. There could be a point to celebrate if prashant had won the idol singing only nepali songs, but he is indian national, he sang indian songs, he was judged by indian people, so what is the reason to celebrate his victory? When Hritik Roshan says something, or Madhuri Dixit says something, we can vandalize our own property because they have already become our idol and we can not see our idol going wrong. Every indian is an idol for us. The singers are our idol, our singer copy their music, the film makers are our idols because we copy their movies, the biharis are our idol, our leaders follow their way of politics, indian leaders are idols becasue our leaders, kings follow their advice. We listen to hindi music most of the time, we watch hindi movies, we follow each and everything that indians do. Even the religious and traditional stuffs, like the dowry (we have started to ask for more), raakhi (we used to have rakshyabandhan), hiding groom's shoes during the wedding and list goes on. So what remains of us? By the way none of the things we borrow from our giant neighbor has helped us better our life.
Prashant Tamang, an indian, wins the title of Indian idol and we are out on the street with victory rally. The country is heading toward destruction with maoists out of the government and so many other problems, but we do not have courage and time to take out the rally to pressurrize the government and the maoists and other troubling parties. There is nothing we care about our own country, our own culture, our own brotherhood, nothing at all.
I remember Girija talking about threat to sovereignty. But I say, there is no threat at all. We have already become indian so why worry if India sikkimizes nepal? We are so proud of an indian, so why not all be indian, that way we will not have to show our surfacial hatred toward indians and probably we would not need to worry about indian invasion, illegal dams, petroleum shortage, one less thing to argue in politics and so on.
Jai hind (I hope that's the only thing left for us to say, we do love bande mataram by a r rehman)

Congratulation for being the winner. Those who voted for him might be proud for their contribution to help him win this title. If someone compares him with nationality view it is his or her bad habit being embossed by contemporary dirty political minds because music is entirely free from politics and nationality. Music has not nationality, no language, no politics and no dirty mind. Please do not comment on music by those Girija's followers but better you work hard for making Nepalis worst minded and even more poorer in the name of NEPALI JANATA. Don't worry you will be kept filling with dollars and INR in your begger's pot by Bush and Manmohan Singh.

We have to be clear that Prashanta Tamang is an Indian citizen from Nepali origin.

I am proud of him for his achievement in Indian Idol III.  He is aware of Nepali people who voted him wholeheartedly.  That is why he sang, Bir Gurkhali... at the end.

I regard him as a gifted person.  Congratulation.

In one way it is ine small step of begining of positive aspects about nationalism in Nepal. I think now people are warried about their nationalism, it will certainly generate patriotic and nationalists feelings more stronger in the days to come.
